Jari is a live-stream marketplace for buyers and sellers in Nigeria, run by SoftQraft Labs. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights. It applies to the Jari mobile app and website.

Information we collect

• Account. Your name, phone number, and email used to sign in.
• Seller verification. If you choose to get verified, your legal name, ID type and number, and a photo of your ID.
• Transactions and wallet. Your wallet balance, deposits, withdrawals, bids, offers, orders, and tips. Card and bank details are handled by our payment provider (Paystack), so we do not store your full card details.
• Content you provide. Product listings, photos, live video and audio, chat messages, and delivery addresses.
• Device and usage. Device and app information, IP address, a notification token, and basic usage and diagnostic data.

How we use your information

• To run the marketplace, including live shows, auctions, Buy Now, offers, and orders.
• To process payments, payouts, and wallet activity through our payment provider.
• To send order updates and the notifications you opt into, like a seller going live or an outbid alert.
• To verify identity, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the platform safe.
• To provide support and to meet legal and regulatory duties.

How we share your information

• Payment providers such as Paystack, to take payments and send payouts.
• Between buyers and sellers, the order details needed to deliver a purchase, such as the delivery address and a contact phone for the courier.
• Service providers that host our systems, deliver notifications (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Expo), and store media.
• Authorities, where the law requires it or to protect our users and platform.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to run the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting duties.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption of data in transit, to protect your information. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure.

Your rights

Subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act and other laws that apply, you can ask to see, correct, or delete your personal data, and you can object to some uses of it. To make a request, or to delete your account and its data, contact us using the details below.

Children

Jari is for adults, meaning people aged 18 and over, because it involves money. It is not meant for children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make important changes, we will post them here with a new date at the top.
